About

For over 67 years, Sunnybeam School has been operating as a non-profit preschool from the historic red schoolhouse. Since opening its doors in 1957, the school has offered the Mercer Island community a safe and nurturing learning environment focused on helping young children grow and develop social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills, along with a deep love of learning. 

Fundraising efforts are essential for the ongoing success of our school. Fundraisers like the bi-annual Auction and Spring Fling raise funds to help bridge the gap between tuition and the annual operating expenses of Sunnybeam. By prioritizing the importance of early childhood education, we collectively contribute to a brighter future and equip children to flourish in our modern world. Bi-Annual Auction

Every other year, Sunnybeam hosts an Auction that serves as our largest fundraising effort. Business leaders, community supporters, education enthusiasts and a host of Mercer Island parents and caregivers attend. With over 25,000 people living and working on or near Mercer Island, our community of current and alumni families is a diverse and committed group eager to support both local businesses and our school.

Spring Fling

The bi-annual Spring Fling is a fun way for our families to gather to support Sunnybeam and celebrate nicer weather! Every other year, families are invited to join us for a night of drinks and light bites to help set Sunnybeam up for another successful year.
